PianoAudit Privacy Policy

PianoAudit is made by Willey Piano Tuning (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what information the PianoAudit iOS app handles and what happens to it. The short version: everything stays on your device. We collect nothing.

Microphone

PianoAudit uses your device’s microphone for one purpose: measuring the pitch of piano notes in real time while you run a measurement. Audio is analyzed in your device’s memory as it arrives and is immediately discarded. Audio is never recorded, saved to disk, or transmitted anywhere. The app only retains the numbers derived from the sound — note frequencies, pitch offsets, and inharmonicity values.

Your data

• Piano measurements, tuning curves, and piano names you enter are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage.
• If you fill in the optional business details for PDF reports (business name, technician name, phone, email, website), those are stored only on your device and appear only in the PDF reports you generate.
• Reports and data files leave your device only when you explicitly share or export them (for example, emailing a PDF to a customer or AirDropping a backup file). Where they go is entirely under your control.
• Your device’s standard iOS backup (iCloud or computer) may include the app’s data, like any other app. That backup is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not ours.

What we do not do

• No accounts, sign-ins, or registration.
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs that receive your data.
• No servers of ours ever receive your measurements, your audio, or anything else.

Purchases

Upgrades (Plus and Pro) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us aggregate, anonymized sales information only. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

Children

PianoAudit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children.

Changes

If a future version of the app changes any of the above (for example, adding optional cloud sync), this policy will be updated first and the effective date revised. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
