Support
If you have a question or run into a problem with the app, email me at support@pianoaudit.com and I'll see what I can do to help. (I'm a piano technician, and I make the app myself.)
Frequently asked questions
Does the app record my piano?
No. The audio is analyzed as it arrives and then discarded. The app keeps only the measured numbers for each note (pitch and inharmonicity), and those stay on your device. See the privacy policy.
How many keys do I need to play?
The more the better. The app needs at least 20 notes, spread across the bass, middle, and treble, before it will give a verdict. Playing all 88 gives the most complete picture.
Is PianoAudit on Android?
Yes. The iPhone and Android versions are built on the same measurement code and have the same features and tiers. Data files move between them.
How do I restore my purchases on a new device?
In-app purchases are linked to your Apple or Google account, so they work on any device signed in with that account. Install PianoAudit on the new device, then open the upgrade screen (Plus & Pro) and tap Restore Purchases if it hasn't unlocked on its own.
How do I move my pianos to a new device?
Export each piano from the Pianos screen (long-press, then Export Data), send the files to the new device, and use the import button at the top of the Pianos screen. The file format is the same on iPhone and Android, so exports can go in either direction.
I'm a technician. How do customer reports work?
Measure before you tune and again after, select both sessions, tap Compare, then Customer Report (PDF). The first time, the app asks for your business details for the header and remembers them after that. The PDF goes out through the normal share sheet (email, text, AirDrop, and so on).
